Short Story
Jan.15.2010
In one moment, he finds the spot.
He pulls himself out of the car, carelessly closing the door.
Walks to the back of the car, mechanically opens the trunk and pulls it out.
The slam of the trunk does nothing to faze him.
He walks with a purpose, dropping the keys absently as he strides slowly away from the car.
Though his eyes are open, he sees nothing around him...

I will always love herBut not the way I should
Happiness is not something to be givenShe doesn’t have it inside
His voice sounds so differentAs I listen to him speak
Letting all his feelings outFear escapes his mind
He is so much different nowNothing left to hide
He is at peaceWithin and all around
Passion is what I seek, he saysYou got me forever now
You got...

What he seeks only to hideHis heart and soul to be alive
He numbs it all just to get byNever knowing how he makes others cry
Not responsible, he says to meOthers happiness is never to be
The hurt little boy he isolatesLooking at him with such distaste
A mask of a man is his disguiseAlone forever, he keeps walking by
Never stopping to see what could beJust letting...

Sipping my coffee as the world wakes upThe bell jingle softly I glance to the door
Beautiful green eyes that lock with mineLeaves me breathless, shocks me to the core
A slight smile and a nod of his headSalutation exchanged, he passes me by
Hearing his deep voice as he speaksLocks me into confusion, lips exhale a sigh
Boiling blood streaming through my essenceIn...

Sep.19.2008
The day goes by, the sun slowly setsNight draws near, altering the canvas above
Crimson, fiery and sapphire colorsStreaking and splotching across the sky
Slowly as the glowing sphere fadesAll turns to darkness, from cobalt to black
The heavens sprinkled with bright twinkling gemsA theater of luminosity and shadows
Taking a step into the water as you watch...

Life is in turmoilWhat do we do?Masking it with a band aidBecause we don’t have a clue
People are fighting; blame and they yellNo one can hear, crawling into their holesAvoidance is constant and a peculiar way of lifeWe lie to each other and tear at our souls
Change in the season and change in the airGoodness is in all of us, we just have to seeOur values...

Sep.19.2008
I was drowning,When you grabbed my hand, keeping me afloat;Forcing me to face my pastRe-examine my thoughts and fears.
Locked tight in an iron tombMy heart not to touch and feel; You held the key to open the gate,The rush of pain punched right through.
What I did when my fears came trueTo protect myself from dying inside,Was tie me down to this life of...

Downward spiral, her descentSure as air, off she went
The beam of light, she did not seeSent to her, to set her free
Misguided and lost, she searches aroundVisibly standing on shaky ground
Searching within for what she needs to doNot finding the answer and having no clue
The time and place and where to stayShe questions why things turned this way
The past...

Poem
Sep.19.2008
Out of the woods, slowly he stepped;Pulling all he can from way within his depth.
Pain and suffering not far in his past;Steadily gaining strength and energy at last.
Proudly he stands at the edge of the trees; The darkness behind, no longer he sees.

My brain is twisted, my mind is gone.My body is empty, my soul AWOL.Things that happen in my life are all wrong,Give me another for this path is not strong. My aura is black, my future bleak.Turning the clock back means getting no sleep.Things that happen in my life are all wrong,Give me another for this path is not strong. Those who have gone and passed on...
